Eustass "Captain" Kid as a Yellow Leader
The ST-36 Leader lets any Character become a Blocker, giving the deck a defensive flexibility that is unusual for an entry-level product. The mechanic balances offence and defence and lets you take back control of the pace of a game.
Kid moving to Yellow is new: the character had previously been tied to Green and Purple. Yellow being the colour of Life manipulation and Trigger effects, this version opens up combinations built around late-game reversals.
Refer to each card's page for its precise effect, its cost and its colour.
Playstyle
ST-36 is a midrange deck, sitting between aggression and control. It plays around Life management: healing your own Life to throw off your opponent's lethal maths, or triggering effects from the Life area to turn a losing position around.
The five new cards in the deck are designed to reinforce that axis. They can also slot into existing Yellow lists, which makes the product worth picking up even for players who already own a collection.
Who it's for
Starter decks are aimed first at new players: simple Leader effects, a readable cost curve, and no deckbuilding needed before the first game. ST-36 covers that role while offering a more reactive style than the aggro decks in the same wave.
Established players are mostly here for the new cards and the reprints. Starter deck exclusives have produced competitively played cards in the past, which is why they draw attention as soon as a wave lands.
Tournament legality
ST-36 cards are legal in official tournaments seven days after the release date in your region. They can be played from the pre-release date at participating local game stores.
Collecting, rarity and market
Starter deck cards carry their deck's code (ST36-001, ST36-002 and so on) and are mostly reprints of previously released cards. Individual values stay modest as a rule, the exception being the new cards, whose prices depend on how far they are adopted in competitive play.
Values are broken out card by card. They follow the market and hinge above all on rarity, condition and demand.
Other printings
ST-36 is also printed in French and Japanese.
