Kuzan as a Blue Leader

The ST-33 Leader cycles your hand continuously, giving the deck lasting card advantage. It is one of the most highly rated effects of the wave among competitive players, precisely because card cycling is a structural resource in blue.

Among the new cards, Koby blocks and draws, Smoker sends opposing Characters to the bottom of the deck, Sakazuki forces discards, and Monkey D. Garp deploys further Navy Characters.

Playstyle

ST-33 is a mono-blue control deck. Rather than winning through raw power, it manipulates the board: bouncing threats back to hand or to the bottom of the deck, disrupting the opponent's hand, and smothering aggressive strategies before closing the game out.

It is the most patient deck of the wave. It asks you to accept some damage in the early turns to take over later, which means judging carefully when to switch to offence.

Who it's for

ST-33 is for the player who would rather dictate the pace than strike first. It is not the easiest deck to pick up, but it is the one that teaches resource management best.

On the competitive side, the Kuzan support package was among the most discussed of the wave, offering a depth of card choice unusual for an entry-level product.

Beginners Deck Party

Between 31 July and 30 August 2026, local game stores ran the Beginners Deck Party for this wave. No deck building: you brought one of the six ST-31 to ST-36 products untouched, for a participation card and, on a win, a second one.

Tournament legality

ST-33 cards are legal in official tournaments seven days after the release date in your region. They can be played from the pre-release date at participating local game stores.

Collecting, rarity and market

Starter deck cards carry their deck's code (ST33-001, ST33-002 and so on) and are mostly reprints of previously released cards. Individual values stay modest as a rule, the exception being the new cards, whose prices depend on how far they are adopted in competitive play.

The values quoted card by card track the market. Three things weigh most: rarity, condition and demand.

Other printings

ST-33 is also printed in French and Japanese.
