Monkey D. Luffy as a Red Leader
The ST-31 Leader attaches rested DON!! cards directly to your Characters. The effect lets you chain attacks and keep constant pressure without choking your resource curve, which makes it the most readable Leader effect of the wave for a new player.
The deck is built on the Straw Hat Crew. Among the new cards, Brook becomes a Blocker under a DON!! condition, Jinbe adds a further defensive option, and Sanji replays a crew Character.
The exact wording of effects and costs sits on the individual card pages reachable from here.
Playstyle
ST-31 is a mono-red aggro deck. The game plan is simple: land Characters early, load them with DON!! and attack relentlessly to run down the opponent's Life before they stabilise the board.
It is the most intuitive deck of the wave, with the fewest technical decisions per turn. Its weakness is its dependence on tempo: against a control deck that survives the early turns, you need to manage your hand carefully to avoid running out of fuel.
Who it's for
ST-31 is the default pick for a first game of One Piece Card Game. It teaches the fundamentals - attacking, managing DON!!, counting the opponent's Life - with no complex mechanic to absorb first.
Established players are drawn to the new cards and to the Straw Hat Crew reprints, one of the format's most played archetypes. Luffy as a Leader also remains a closely tracked name on the singles market.
Beginners Deck Party
The Beginners Deck Party accompanied this wave in stores between 31 July and 30 August 2026. Entry required one of the six ST-31 to ST-36 decks, played exactly as sold, with a participation card and a winner card in six versions each.
Tournament legality
ST-31 cards are legal in official tournaments seven days after the release date in your region. They can be played from the pre-release date at participating local game stores.
Collecting, rarity and market
Starter deck cards carry their deck's code (ST31-001, ST31-002 and so on) and are mostly reprints of previously released cards. Individual values stay modest as a rule, the exception being the new cards, whose prices depend on how far they are adopted in competitive play.
Each card's average price sits on its own page and moves with the market. Rarity, condition and demand are the three main levers on value.

ST-31 is also printed in French and Japanese.
