Ace & Newgate as a blue Leader

The ST-22 Leader puts Portgas D. Ace and Edward Newgate on one card, in blue. Once per turn you may reveal a Whitebeard Pirates card from your hand to draw a card, then place the revealed card on top of your deck.

It is filtering rather than pure card advantage: you swap a card you will draw again next turn for a fresh one, which steadies the hand without burning through the deck.

Effect, cost, colour: it is all on the individual page of each card.

How it plays

ST-22 is a blue mid-game deck built on consistency. The Leader keeps a steady flow of cards coming, and the Whitebeard archetype supplies sturdy Characters the deck can afford to hold on to.

Blue being the colour of bounce and board control, the deck can also unpick an opposing setup rather than chase damage.

Who it is for

ST-22 is playable out of the box and suits a beginner. It teaches a useful idea: the quality of your hand matters as much as its size, and putting a card back for next turn is a real play.

Established players pick it up for the new Leader and for the Whitebeard cards, one of the most followed archetypes in the format.

Tournament legality

ST-22 cards are legal in official tournaments from 12 September 2025, one week after release, and playable from the pre-release date at participating local game stores.

Collecting, rarity and market

ST-22 cards carry the deck's own code (ST22-001, ST22-002 and so on). The most followed are the "Ace & Newgate" Leader, the two Super Rares and the 14 alternate-art Bonus Pack designs.

Prices shown on individual card pages are market averages. Rarity, condition and demand explain most of the spread.

Other printings

ST-22 is also printed in French and Japanese. The French edition released on the same day, 5 September 2025.
