Starter Deck 1: Straw Hat Crew is a starter deck of the One Piece Card Game, identified by the code ST-01. It has been available in English since 2 December 2022. This ready-to-play 51-card deck is built around the red Leader Monkey D. Luffy. The complete card list and its average prices are laid out in the rest of this page.
This page shadows the official news, and every development on ST-01 is recorded here.
ST-01 is where the game begins. It launched alongside OP-01 Romance Dawn and the three other founding decks, and a pre-release version had already been distributed on 30 September 2022, two months before general release.

Deck contents
The ST-01 deck comes with everything you need to play straight away:
- 1 ready-to-play deck of 51 cards, including the Leader card, across 17 card types
- 10 DON!! cards
- 1 playsheet
The rarity breakdown is 1 Leader, 2 Super Rare and 14 Common. The whole card pool can be browsed below, with the matching rarities and average values.
Monkey D. Luffy as a red Leader
The ST-01 Leader is Monkey D. Luffy, with the simplest effect in the game's opening line-up: once per turn, give this Leader or one of your Characters a rested DON!! card.
That single line teaches the central resource decision of One Piece: DON!! cards can be spent to play cards or attached to boost power, and you cannot do both with the same card.
The two Super Rares are Monkey D. Luffy (ST01-012) and Roronoa Zoro (ST01-013). The exact contents of every ST-01 card, effect, cost and colour, are reachable from its own page.
How it plays
ST-01 is a red aggro deck built on Rush, the keyword that lets a Character attack the turn it is played. The plan is direct: deploy, attach DON!! cards, attack every turn and take the opponent's Life down before they stabilise.
It is the least technical of the four founding decks and the one that reaches its plan fastest.
Who it is for
ST-01 is the default first purchase for the game. It teaches attacking, DON!! management and Life counting without adding a mechanic on top.
Experienced players return to it mostly for the Leader and for the two Super Rares, both of which have been part of the Straw Hat archetype since day one.
Tournament legality
ST-01 cards are legal in official tournaments from the pre-release date in your region, subject to the official Bandai restriction list.
Collecting, rarity and market
As one of the four launch decks, ST-01 carries a collector's premium beyond its playability, particularly for copies from the original 2022 printing and from the September 2022 pre-release run.
Average prices appear on every card page and are refreshed against the market. Rarity, condition and demand remain the main drivers.
Other printings
ST-01 is also printed in Japanese. It has never been printed in French: the French edition of the game began in February 2025 with the ST-15 to ST-20 decks.
