One Piece Promotion Cards

September 30, 2022 · 1199 cards

One Piece Promotion Cards is the series gathering every card of the One Piece Card Game distributed outside boosters and decks, identified by the code P. It has no single release date and no fixed contents: it grows with every event, promotional pack and campaign Bandai runs. Each card is presented here with the information available and its average price.

This page is revised whenever new official information turns up. Worth checking back.

The English promo pool is by far the largest single card list in the game, with several hundred card types, and it goes back to September 2022, before the first booster set was even on shelves.

What a promotional card is

A promotional card is never sold on its own in a booster. It is handed out at an event, tucked into a participation pack, given away with a purchase or distributed at a convention. Most carry a P-xxx code, but a promo can also be a reprint of an existing card, in which case it keeps its original code with new art or a new finish.

In rules terms a promotional card is an ordinary card: it is tournament legal on the same terms as the card it reprints.

Where they come from

The English promo pool draws on a wide range of channels, among them:

  • Tournament Packs and Winner Packs from store-level events
  • Championship, Regional and Store Championship participation, finalist and champion card sets
  • Pre-release and set release event packs
  • Judge Packs, Event Packs and Pirates Party packs
  • Anniversary sets, Premium Card Collections and Illustration Boxes
  • Conventions, collaborations and retailer campaigns

The card-by-card detail, rarity and value included, is built into this page and kept up to date.

A series that collects differently

Unlike a set, the P series has no fixed size and no single way to obtain it. Each card has its own distribution story: a tournament, a convention, a commercial campaign, sometimes limited to one country.

That is why the spread of values inside the series is so wide. A participation card handed out over several months and a champion card given to a handful of players are not comparable, even when they share the same illustration.

Tournament legality

Promotional cards are legal in official tournaments on the same terms as the card they reprint. A brand-new P card becomes legal from its distribution date. Where there is any doubt, Bandai's official restriction list is the reference.

Collecting, rarity and market

Promos are the hardest cards in the game to value. Print runs are not published, availability depends entirely on the original channel, and some cards were only ever handed out in one region.

The most sought-after tend to be champion and finalist cards from major events, textured and foil-stamped treatments, and convention exclusives. Average prices for each card are shown on the card pages here and move with the market.

Other printings

Promotional cards also exist for the French and Japanese editions, each with its own distribution calendar. An English promo does not automatically have a counterpart in another language.

What is a One Piece Card Game promotional card?
A card distributed outside boosters and decks: at a tournament, a convention, a commercial campaign or in a promotional pack. Most carry a P-xxx code, but some reprint an existing card under its original code.
Are promotional cards tournament legal?
Yes. A promo is legal on the same terms as the card it reprints, and a brand-new P card becomes legal from its distribution date.
How do I get promotional cards?
By taking part in tournaments and events at participating stores, by attending partner conventions, or on the secondary market. None of them are available in boosters.
Why do prices vary so much within the P series?
Because print runs are never published and each card has its own distribution channel. A participation card and a champion card can share an illustration and still be worlds apart in value.
How many cards are in the P series?
There is no fixed number. The English pool already runs to several hundred card types and grows with every new event or promotional pack.
How far back does the English promo series go?
To September 2022, before the first booster set was released.

This page follows both the official calendar and the prices being paid on the secondary market.
