The Time of Battle

June 12, 2026 Β· 155 cards

The Time of Battle is the sixteenth main set of the One Piece Card Game, identified by the code OP-16. It has been available in English since 12 June 2026. The set contains 126 card types plus a commemorative DON!! card, including 6 new Leaders. Everything currently known about each OP-16 card, average price included, is collected here.

We track the official communications on OP-16 and bring each update into this page.

OP-16 follows Adventure on God's Island (OP-15) and takes the game back into the Paramount War, the conflict spanning the Impel Down and Marineford arcs. It is the first time since OP-02 that an entire set has been built around that clash. It is also the last set before the alignment of Eastern and Western release schedules: from OP-17 onwards, expansions reach shelves worldwide within days of each other.

The six Leaders

OP-16 introduces six new Leader cards, each drawn from a different corner of the conflict:

  • Portgas D. Ace (red) - an aggressive Leader granting Rush and built on family bonds, calling specifically on Monkey D. Luffy
  • Monkey D. Luffy (blue/green) - an Impel Down and Straw Hat hybrid built for high-speed pressure
  • Buggy (blue) - the prison break turned into a numbers game, marshalling a swarm of prisoners
  • Sengoku (purple) - a long-awaited Leader debut for the Fleet Admiral, on a high-cost Navy build that unites the Three Admirals
  • Yamato (black) - a Land of Wano deck firing off rapid attacks by recurring Transforming Characters out of the trash
  • Marshall D. Teach (black/yellow) - Blackbeard the opportunist, able to redirect an attack to a member of his crew

Complete effect texts can be read on the card pages linked from here.

You'll find the complete OP-16 card list below, with rarities and average prices.

Three Manga Rares in one set

OP-16 is the first One Piece Card Game set to include three Manga Rare cards, where previous sets carried only one. They are devoted to the three Navy Admirals present at Marineford: Kuzan (Aokiji), Sakazuki (Akainu) and Borsalino (Kizaru).

The set also holds two Secret Rares, for Portgas D. Ace and Marshall D. Teach, a Treasure Rare at the top of the pyramid, and SP cards in a Cold Foil finish devoted to Ace, Nico Robin and Bartholomew Kuma.

Theme and mechanics

The Paramount War runs through the whole set. The Whitebeard Pirates throw everything they have at the Navy to rescue Portgas D. Ace, the Admirals hold the line in the name of justice, and a breakout crew claws its way up from the depths of Impel Down to join the fight.

That structure translates directly into the mechanics: the Impel Down prisoners bring a mass-deployment axis, Yamato introduces trash recursion around Transforming Characters, and Blackbeard adds attack redirection, an interaction no Leader had before.

Products and formats

OP-16 cards are spread across several products, available since 12 June 2026:

  • 12-card booster packs
  • Booster display of 24 packs, for 288 cards
  • Double Pack

An OP-16 booster pack is also included in each of the six ST-31 to ST-36 starter decks, released on 31 July 2026.

Tournament legality

OP-16 cards are legal in official tournaments seven days after the release date in your region, and playable from the pre-release date at participating local game stores. The set is fully Standard legal.

Collecting, rarity and market

Marineford being one of the most followed arcs in the manga, OP-16 met sustained demand from release, from players and collectors alike. The most sought-after cards are the three Admiral Manga Rares, the Ace and Blackbeard Secret Rares, the Treasure Rare and the Cold Foil SP cards.

Prices shown on individual card pages are market averages. Rarity, condition and demand explain most of the spread.
