Romance Dawn
December 2, 2022 Β· 154 cards
Romance Dawn is the first main set of the One Piece Card Game, identified by the code OP-01. It has been available in English since 2 December 2022. The set contains 121 card types, including 8 Leaders. Every card is broken out here, with an average price to go with it.
This entry is kept current as official information appears. Do look in again.
OP-01 is where everything starts. Released alongside the first four starter decks, it established the colour wheel, the DON!! system and the Leader slot that every later set has built on. Only red, green, blue and purple existed at this point: black arrived with OP-02 and yellow with OP-03.

The eight Leaders
OP-01 introduces eight Leader cards, the largest Leader count of any set until OP-14:
- Roronoa Zoro (red) - a flat +1000 power to all of your Characters, the simplest aggressive Leader in the game
- Trafalgar Law (red/green) - bounces your own Character to replay a cheaper one, the first multicolour Leader
- Monkey D. Luffy (red/green) - sets a Supernova or Straw Hat Character active and buffs it
- Kouzuki Oden (green) - trashes a Land of Wano card to set two DON!! cards active
- Donquixote Doflamingo (blue) - reveals the top card of your deck to free-play a low-cost Warlord
- Kaido (blue/purple) - adds an active DON!! card whenever an opposing Character is K.O.'d
- Crocodile (blue/purple) - draws a card when you activate an Event
- King (purple) - hands every opposing Character -1000 power once you hold 10 DON!! cards

The foundations of the game
Every mechanic the game still runs on was set here: the Leader with its Life total, the DON!! deck as a shared resource, Blocker, Rush, Counter and Trigger. OP-01 also introduced the multicolour Leader, which is what makes deck building in this game a question of colour pairs rather than single colours.
The card pool leans on the early manga, from East Blue through to the Wano cast that was current at the time of release. Artwork is split between card-game exclusives, anime stills, manga panels and original illustrations, a mix the game has kept ever since.
Notable cards
The two Secret Rares are Shanks (OP01-120) and Yamato (OP01-121). Both were reprinted later in the Premium Booster PRB-01, which is the only realistic route to them for most players today.
OP-01 also holds a large number of parallel cards, several of which have become reference pieces for collectors, notably the alternate-art Leaders.
Products and formats
OP-01 cards are spread across several products, available since 2 December 2022:
- 12-card booster packs
- Booster display of 24 packs, with one box topper card
The four starter decks ST-01 to ST-04 launched on the same day and were designed to be upgraded directly with OP-01 cards.
Tournament legality
OP-01 cards are legal in official tournaments from the pre-release date in your region. The set remains Standard legal, though several of its cards have since been restricted or banned. The official Bandai restriction list is the reference.
Collecting, rarity and market
As the first set of the game, OP-01 carries a premium that has nothing to do with playability. Print runs were small relative to demand, sealed product from the original printing is scarce, and first-edition copies of the marquee cards command far more than later reprints.
The most sought-after cards are the Shanks and Yamato Secret Rares, the alternate-art Leaders and the box toppers. Average prices for each card are shown on the card pages here and move with the market.
Other printings
OP-01 is also printed in Japanese. It has never been printed in French: the French edition of the game began with OP-09 in February 2025.
